Sunil Atreya earned his bachelor鈥檚 degree from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and his master鈥檚 degree in institutional administration from Oklahoma State University.

Atreya worked in the hotel industry in a management capacity in India with the Welcome Group Chain of hotels, as well as with the Marriott and Holiday Inn corporations in the US.

Prior to joining the faculty at 花椒直播, Atreya taught at the University of Minnesota at Crookston in the hotel program. He is a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) from the Education Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA).

As and educator for over 30 years and now, the Chair of the College of Hospitality Management, I find that my career has intersected with my passion. To make a difference in the lives of our students who come to us with the desire to embark on a career filled with growth potential, is my destiny's mandate.



Q&A with Sunil

At JWU, education is not confined to the four walls of the classroom. You鈥檙e not going to spend four years with your nose buried in a book, learning theories you may never get a chance to apply 鈥 you鈥檙e going to get out there and apply them, be it through internships, group projects, leadership opportunities, competitions and more.

What Is Your Favorite Teaching Moment?

My most favorite teaching moment is one when you see the light come on in the student's eyes and you know that they have got it. That's the thrill that never dies.

What Advice Do You Have For Incoming Freshmen?

Leverage the services provided by the institution and take advantage of every opportunity there is during your four years in college to grow and develop your personal brand.
