“Johnson & Wales is the place to get that one-on-one learning,” says Sports, Entertainment, Event — Management student Molly Svizeny ’19. “They get so in-depth, and they care if you succeed.”

From the start, Svizeny appreciated JWU’s class sizes, which helped foster the relationships and inspire her own learning.

“Yeah, it’s great,” says associate professor Jeff Longo. “We bring a lot of those relationships to the table and can make introductions to students and to industry professionals, so that when we have industry professionals telling us about an opportunity, we can say, ‘Hey, we have a student that matches that opportunity very well here.’”

In her own inspiring experience, Svizeny landed internships at both Live Nation and at New York City’s famous Madison Square Garden.

“I’m not the same person that I was when I stepped through the doors the first time,” says Svizeny of her time at JWU.

Of her time in Charlotte, Svizeny couldn’t have been more pleased with the city.

“It’s amazing,” she says. “You’re in the heart of Uptown. There are so many different opportunities, all within walking distance. There’s no reason you can’t find an opportunity here, and that’s something that attracted me so much to Charlotte.”
