JWU Welcomes New Dean of the College of Health & Wellness

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — January 9, 2024 – 花椒直播 has named Maura Daly Iversen, DPT, SD, MPH as the dean of the College of Health & Wellness. Iversen joined the university for the start of the Spring 2024 semester on January 8.

Iversen has extensive experience leading healthcare programs at highly rated institutions and the ability to form strategic partnerships with healthcare systems, along with a track record of fundraising for student scholarships and expertise in identifying new programs that meet industry needs.

“We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Iversen to JWU,” said Provost Richard Wiscott, Ph.D. “Maura truly believes in lifelong learning, and has extensive experience teaching, developing curriculum, and advising students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. We look forward to sharing her expertise in health and wellness, scholarship, and building community connections with our faculty and students.”

An accomplished researcher with a history of publishing and presenting to national and international audiences, Iversen has designed and implemented initiatives to improve retention and graduation, including the development of accelerated and pathways programs linking undergraduate to graduate education.

Iversen previously served as the dean of the College of Health Professions at Sacred Heart University, overseeing more than 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Before Sacred Heart, Iversen spent a decade at Northeastern University, first as the chair of the Department of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Sciences. In 2017, she was appointed associate dean of Clinical & Rehabilitation Programs, Innovation and New Initiatives at NU’s Bouvé College of Health Sciences. From 2004 to 2009, she was the associate director/associate chair of graduate programs in physical therapy at MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston.

She received a Bachelor of Science and Certificate in Physical Therapy from Simmons College in Boston, a Master of Public Health from Boston University, earned a Doctor of Science in Behavioral Science with a co-concentration in Clinical Epidemiology from Harvard University and later received a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston.
